Fiorenza Mileto

Fiorenza holds a degree in modern languages from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and a professional qualification in interpretation and translation. She started working as a freelance translator at ITP Italy (now SDL International), Berlitz (now Lionbridge after the acquisition of Bowne Global Solutions) and UNICEF.

After moving to Turin, she had co-worked, as an editor, to the English-Italian-English dictionary Oxford-Paravia (published in 2001) at Paravia Bruno Mondadori.

She then attended a course in human resource management, just before starting collaboration with STAR as a project manager, trainer and technical support specialist for Italy for Transit and TermStar. She moved back to Rome to start working as project coordinator and project manager, SDL Trados Studio Power User (development, optimization and training) and Network Office Machine Translation Champion (development, implementation and training on machine translation and post editing for Italian network office) in SDL Italy. She has been working as lecturer of specialized translation from English into Italian, videogame localization and translation technologies at UNINT (formerly LUSPIO) in Rome since 2004. She was TRADOS authorized trainer (from Trados 5.5 to Studio 2011) for Italy. As of 2013 she is teacher of English for MIUR. She is currently doing a PhD at DCU to analyse the human factor in the use of NMT integrated in CAT tools.
