Jonathan Lewis Penny

Jonathan lives near Glasgow and has recently started a new role at Channel 4, where he oversees the delivery of subtitles, audio description and signed content for the broadcaster's linear and on-demand platforms. Previously, he ran the audio description department for ITV, where he lead on R&D initiatives including improving the representation of onscreen diversity within AD and exploring the addition of character descriptions to enhance and complement the in-programme AD. He also serves as a Board Trustee for VocalEyes, a provider of audio description and accessibility services for the arts and heritage sectors, and works as a freelance audio describer and accessibility consultant.
