Claes Emil Holmberg

Claes Emil Holmberg (MA, Philosophy) is part of DR’s live subtitling team who in 2020 live captioned 1865 of 1868 hours of live TV. As well as being a subtitling practitioner, he’s concerned with bridging the gap between theory and practice, and he’s focused on developing models that more accurately assess real world subtitles both qualitatively and quantitatively. He is the principal author behind the NERD model which among other things is used as a subtitler feedback tool and an evaluation tool for new technology.
