Giselle Spiteri Miggiani, Ph.D., is an audiovisual translator and dubbing dialogue writer since 2006. She is a tenured lecturer in the Department of Translation, Terminology, and Interpreting Studies at the University of Malta, where she recently introduced audiovisual translation as a new area of studies. She acts as visiting lecturer and guest speaker at other universities across Europe and delivers consultancy and training to media localisation companies and EU institutions. Apart from her global-oriented research on dubbing (quality standards, adaptation training, technologies, Italian and English language dubbing), her current work focuses on the development of audiovisual translation and integrated access in Malta's media and cultural sectors. She is the author of the book “Dialogue writing for dubbing – An insider’s perspective” (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019).
