Belén Cruz-Durán

I am a researcher and a university lecturer from Seville (Spain). I studied a bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpreting at Pablo de Olavide University (Seville) and I coursed master’s degrees in both Audiovisual Translation (at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) and Language teaching (at Pablo de Olavide University). Once I finished my studies, I worked as a subtitling freelancer for some years and since 2020 I have been working full time as a lecturer and researcher at University of Malaga. When I finished my PhD studies on the translation of teenage musical audiovisual productions in March 2022, I realised that I could expand my research combining my two passions: song translation and training. For that reason, currently my main focus is analysing how song translation is taught at universities and its repercussions in audiovisual translation studies.
