Vasilis Manousakis holds a Ph.D. in American Poetry from the National and Capodistrian University of Athens, Greece. He has taught Contemporary British and American Literature, Literary Translation, Audiovisual Translation, English Language and Terminology at universities and colleges in Greece and abroad. He also has extensive experience as a literary translator, proofreader and subtitler. He has translated more than 20 books of literature and numerous articles, essays and poems for various international and domestic magazines and journals. Moreover, his essays on many literary and translation topics have appeared in various magazines and journals. His current research interests include the musicality of poetry in translation and the subtitling of puns. He writes and publishes poetry and short stories in English and Greek language. He has published three books of poetry and one book of short stories. Currently, he is a faculty member and teaches in the BAELL (English Language and Literature), MAT (Translation) and MACI (Interpreting) programs of the Hellenic American College. He has also served as an external tutor and supervisor in the M.A. program in Audiovisual Translation at City University, London, England. He has been a subtitler for 19 years working for most major studios and online platforms.
