I am a senior lecturer in Dutch and German Studies at the University of Stockholm. My research interests lie in sociolinguistics, audiovisual translation, Dutch studies, and corpus linguistics. I am particularly interested in 'non-dominant national varieties' in pluricentric language areas and the status of their professional language users, as well as the description of these national varieties in linguistic resources such as dictionaries.
While pursuing my PhD on subtitling policy in Dutch-speaking Belgium, I investigated the role of television translation in minority and minoritised language cultures, on the one hand, and to what extent language policy affects audiovisual translation, on the other hand. From 2018 to 2019, I conducted postdoc research at Stockholm University investigating audiovisual translation for Dutch-speaking children with a special focus on linguistic diversity in dubbing.
