Sharon Black is a Lecturer in Interpreting and Translation at the University of East Anglia (UK). She is Co-Investigator for the Digital Accessibility for You (DA4You) project, which is financially supported by the Erasmus+ Programme and aims to empower young adults with communication difficulties to use digital media for democratic participation in the debate on accessibility across disability, geography and language. Previously, Sharon coordinated the Queen's University Belfast team of the Erasmus+ funded project Accessible Culture and Training (ACT), which involved collaborating with project partners across Europe to define the profile of the arts accessibility manager, to create training on making the arts accessible, and to strengthen links between people involved in arts accessibility locally and internationally. Sharon's principal research interests include cultural and media accessibility and audiovisual translation, particularly the reception and processing of translated audiovisual content. Sharon is Treasurer of the European Association for Studies in Screen Translation (ESIST).
