Gian Maria Greco (MA, PhD in Philosophy; International MA in Accessibility to Media, Arts and Culture) is President of Media Accessibility Platform and external collaborator of TransMedia Catalonia at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain). His research focuses on accessibility and: human rights, media, and the performing arts. He has held university positions as a post-doc and research fellow, and was Junior Research Associate at Oxford University (UK) from 2003 to 2007. In 2015, he was the keynote speaker at the 5th ARSAD, coordinator of the accessibility panel at the 23rd ENCATC, and appointed as Advisory Board member of the 3-year EU project Accessible Culture and Training. He has been published in peer-reviewed journals and has authored two books. His last paper is “On Accessibility as a Human Right, with an Application to Media Accessibility” in A. Matamala and P. Orero, Researching Audio Description, Palgrave 2016. He is a member of the scientific committee of ARSAD2017.
