Gu Tiejun

Gu Tiejun, Associate Professor of Communication University of China. Script Translator,  Dubbing Director and Artistic Supervisor of The Dubbing Center of China Film Group Cooperation. Expert Member of The Translators’ Association of China. Prof. Gu obtained his MA from Peking University majoring in World Literature. Presently he is a Doctor Candidate at Beijing Normal University majoring in Radio and TV Art. From 1987 to 1989, Mr. Gu attended the Research Program of Comparative Studies of World Cultures sponsored by China Culture Academy. In 2000 and 2001, Mr. Gu worked as a Visiting Scholar at Philosophy Department of Peking University and completed his research on some topics in the fields of Western Philosophy and Western Religious Philosophy. As a Film Translation Professor and Practitioner, Gu Tiejun has finished some research projects on film translation such as The Historical Survey of Dubbed Films of China and The Main Tasks in Film Dubbing. Among the dubbed films translated or dorected by Professor Gu are The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, Oliver Twist, The River WorldStalingrad, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and The Twilight Man. In 1995, Gu Tiejun was awarded the Han Suyin Young Translator Prize by The Translators’ Association of China. In 2005, the dubbed film King Arthur, translated by Gu Tiejun, won The Ornamental Award, a national film prize of China.
