Minako O’Hagan, PhD, is a Senior Lecturer at Dublin City University affiliated with the Centre for Translation and Textual Studies (CTTS). She has been involved in interdisciplinary cutting-edge translation research with a main interest in emerging practices of translation. Her earlier publications include The Coming Industry of Teletranslation (O’Hagan, 1996) and Translation-mediated Communication in a Digital World: Facing the Challenges of Globalization and Localization (O’Hagan & Ashworth, 2002). She has been an investigator on a number of externally and internally funded research projects, including a feasibility study of Example-based Machine Translation in Audiovisual Translation. More recently her focus in research has been in the area of translation for interactive multimedia products such as video games, combined with developments of social media technologies.
