Dr Martínez-Sierra

Dr Martínez-Sierra teaches Audiovisual Translation and Specialised Translation in the Department of Translation and Interpretation of the Universidad de Murcia (Spain). Besides his PhD in Translation Studies (2004; Universitat Jaume I, Spain), he holds a BA in English Language and Culture (1995; Universitat Jaume I) and an MA in Intercultural Communication (2001; University of Maryland, Baltimore County, USA). He has published several articles dealing with audiovisual translation, humour, and culture. He has also published a book on the translation of humour in audiovisual texts. He is a member of the research group TRAMA (Translation in the Audiovisual Media) from the Universitat Jaume I.
