Joan Greening joined RNIB’s Media and Culture Team in April 2000, having previously worked in the field of disability as a theatre director and a television and film producer. Since joining RNIB she has been instrumental in the development of audio description in cinemas across the UK; on DVD; on all platforms of digital television and in the emerging internet protocol television. She works with the industry to ensure their services are accessible to their blind and partially sighted customers.
She represents RNIB on the UK Cinema Exhibitors Association Disability Working Group and provides consultancy for Warner Brothers and Universal Pictures on the audio description of all their film releases.
Joan Greening also works on 3D for television and cinema.
